WHAT IS HATOA?

You may be wondering how we got our company name or what Ha Toa is or what it means? Well we will start at the beginning with the translation of the name.
Ha is a Polynesian word that has many meanings. A few are to breathe, exhale, to breathe upon, breath, or life. The ancient Polynesians understood that breath was the key to good health and practiced many different breathing exercises. Also aware that breath brings life and without breath there is no life. In old, times the Kupunas (Elders) when about to die would pass on their mana (power) and last pieces of ‘ike (knowledge) into their chosen successor by expelling their Ha into the others mouth. When greeting someone they would press their heads together as to feel each others’ Ha. Ha is also scared for the belief that when Akua (God) created man. Akua breathed his Ha into man bringing him in to life. In modern days it is still held sacred among the people of Polynesia.
Toa a Polynesian word that also has many meanings such as to be brave, bold, strong, victorious, accomplished, adept, skillful, capable, to have courage , or an expert. Only the most skilled, brave and victorious of warriors were known to be Toa. They were known for accomplishing impossible unthinkable tasks. Throughout Polynesia all the great warriors were known to be Toa. To this day Toa is still used to define someone or someone who posses greatness or fearlessness.
So what does Ha Toa mean? The name is versatile. With a little wordplay what does Ha Toa mean to you? Do you possess it?
