Low Cholesterol Diets - Foods to Avoid High Cholesterol

The other half of a lifestyle change that Advanced Cardio Rx Review  will benefit your health and your heart is to get more active. Get out and walk more often. Here's an idea. All big cities and lots of small cities have historical significance that they like to show off by hosting walking tours around the city. You get to see a lot and maybe even learn a few things that you may have not known before, and you have the pleasant experience of walking around that will make you want to do it again. Of course walking is not the only exercise you can do. Planting and tending a garden is great exercise plus you get the pay off of more fresh veggies. Wash the car instead of taking it through the carwash.

Once you get more active you may surprise yourself and start having fun doing a lot of things that you never thought of before. Fun is contagious and the more you have the more you want. Staying active and involved in lots of different things is also a good way to relieve stress. Everybody has a tough day at the office or two. Focusing your attention on something completely unrelated to work can help make that go away. And then there is always that warm bubble bath and scented candles.

Many people automatically associate cholesterol with something negative -- poor health, obesity, heart attack risks, and so on -- but we also have to realize that there is such a thing as good cholesterol. Not all the cholesterol found in the body is bad for the health. In fact, the body needs the so-called good cholesterol in order to perform some very important functions. For this reason, it is important that we learn to distinguish between the two kinds of cholesterol.

Good cholesterol is also known as the high-density lipoproteins or HDL. This type of cholesterol is produced naturally by the body and is also contained in many of the common foods that we eat. However, these same foods also contain bad cholesterol, or the low-density lipoproteins (LDL). When a person's LDL count rises, these bad cholesterol will build up in the bloodstream and block the natural flow of blood to the different parts of the body. This increases the risk for heart attack and other serious heart problems. What's even more dangerous is that cholesterol cannot be dissolved. On the contrary, it can travel fast to the entire circulatory system and eventually harden the arteries.
