In this case, you are most likely in No-BS Manifesting Course Review the "Contemplation Stage" of change. You are recognizing the negative impact your behavior has on yourself as well as on others. You are learning more about the symptoms and the results of your behavior. And you are seeing some of the positive results that change might have on yourself as well as on others. You are getting ready to make a change in your behavior, but you still aren't ready to actually go into action.
Now, suppose your answer to "why you do you want to change?" is more like: "I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired!" or "If I don't change, I may not be around for long." or "I just want to be happy with me!" Then comes a follow-up question: "So what are you going to do about it?" and your answer sounds like this. "I don't know. I don't want to give up my friends in my baking class." "Well, I wonder what I'll do when I get stressed if I can't smoke." or "I'm working on a check list for rewards."
Now you are in the "Preparation Stage" of change. You are recognizing the challenges you will face in making the change and setting up a way to deal with them. You are planning what to do, how to celebrate your progress, and what stresses your change may place on your social life. If you jumped into action (the fourth stage) without this planning, you would be setting yourself up for failure. You will come back to Stage Three as you work on your change, but when you have dealt with some planning work for a while, then you are ready to go into action that can be really successful.
Occasionally there are people who can take this kind of information and work with it all on their own, but most people are much more successful when they can use the resource of a non-judgmental, knowledgeable and supportive coach to get through the hard places.
